I have just started using pl sql developer and have a couple of suggestions that would make it better for me.
-1-
I wish the folders in the browser window were sorted.
The apparently random order that is used has very little logic that I can see, except for the Recent and Recyle folders at the top.
I notice I can type a character to go to a folder, but that doesn't help much in practise. For example if I flip to a different application and then back to plsql developer then the browser pane no longer has the focus and so my keystrokes won't select a folder. Instead I have to use the mouse to select the object pane first - but in that case the keyboard short cut is pointless since if I am using the mouse then I might as well simply click on the folder directly.
That points out another bug. If I leave the application and come back to it then it's no longer in the state in which I left it. I was interacting with the browser pane, but when I return the application has switched to a different state in which I am interacting with one of the windows instead.

I wish the object pane was a proper window like in most other develepment environments I have used.
Because it is not a window it is not possible to flip to it using the window keystrokes (Ctrl+F6).
Because it is not a window it is not possible to have it opened at the size I want while still having the other windows opened at the size I want since they won't ever go in front of the browser pane. Basically it wastes a lot of screen real estate.
Also, if you resize the object window then all the other windows move around even though I didn't move them. I don't appreciate your application moving my windows around when I didn't ask it to move them.

Talking about screen real estate, I wish I could completely turn off the toolbar at the top. It wastes a lot of space, and all the options are available on the menu of via keyboard short cuts anyway. If I select to show no icons then instead it shows them all!
