SQL Window: How to get old behaviour?

Recently, I began to prepare a new working environment, because I want to replace the old PC. After installing PLD, SqlWindow in QBE places :var1, instead, as formerly, the entered value. How to restore the old behavior? On the old PC it is working normally, but on it, the PLD was upgraded. I guess it's a setting, but I have not managed to find it.

Please help me, because this behavior with :var1 ... is not pleasant to work with.

This indicates that you are connected to a Unicode database, and that your Oracle Client uses a non-Unicode character set. There are 2 solutions:

1. Switch the Oracle Client to Unicode character set UTF8
2. Disable Unicode support through the preferences (Tools > Preferences > Oracle / Options)

Here we go again...

Once more, I've upgraded from 9 to 10 and again this problem appears, but this time solution nr. 2 does not work. Why, why, why???

I just want to upgrade without this prloblem again, please.
Tried to set other OCI but it ignores any of my setting, again...

This is to much for me today, and I ask myself should I switch to another product.

Please, add an option to disable child window query with new "Auto refresh child window" feature on child window itself (with conversion m_ variable to value passed from parent window), and also please add preference to set default option on this.

Thanks.
