Slow startup Version 7.1.5.1396

Very slow startup. Below is the debug listing. Seems to be halting after preferences are load and the start of the Macro load for about 6 minutes. My macro library has three macros that are pretty simple. One is attached to the toolbar that looks at a six character string, wraps it in single quotes and then appends a comma and moves on to the next line to create in list queries from a series of 6 character text strings. I do have Norton virus checking and I can't turn it off. This started about a two months ago.

I'm not sure what could cause this. Can you check if your default Windows printer is accessible? This can sometimes cause delays.

Can you also check if this issue persists with the current 8.0.2 version? You can download a trial version and install it in a separate directory.

Default printer is locally attached USB HP All-in-one,so there isn't any network checking. I looks like its somewhere between the preferences end and the macro library load. We have a site license for v8 and I'm waiting for the guy to get back in the office to get a copy. Also, I have a local desktop and remote via VPN. Same issue is occurring with both installs. Based on other posts, checking the printer was the first thing I verified and I don't have an issue with either machine. However, turning off Virus checking isn't an option in the corporate environment - it's locked down on both machines.

Figured it out - I had used the Reports Feature to cascade through a set of Windows folders that I used to post SQL scripts. As the folder hierarchy grew and we switched to a Microsoft AD domain, it was slowing down the scan. I report the folders from the Report tool and now it starts up quickly again.
