When performing long searches for database objects (especially on remote connections), the search sometimes locks, it can not be terminated by hitting 'Break' button or the break symbol or Shift+Esc. The window can not be closed, you get the message: window can not be closed, Query is still executing.
Why am I not allowed to close such as window?
The problem is that all compilation of packages etc. is locked as long as this window is running, the only options is to kill the session for the window or to start a new PLD instance to continue your work. Quite cumbersome.
Can you please remove the dialogue and just close the window when the user requests so, or at least have a button "Terminate" like in the test window?
There is no harm done by closing a search dialogue, there are no locks on tables or similar, so the window should just be closed, eventually after trying to send a break signal to the session in the database.
