Removing 65k row limit on "Copy to Excel"

Is it possible to remove the 65k row limit on the "Copy to Excel" export in the preferences or is this built into the product?

Version 8.0 uses Excel 97-2003 format, and is limited to 65K rows. Additional rows from the result set will lead to additional pages.

The upcoming 9.0 release also supports Excel 2007 format, without any row limitation.
