This is still a continuation of my thread in the "PL/SQL Developer Beta"-forum: "Project" - "Open..." and - "New..." should not right away close current project
Based on the List of fixes in the Beta 12.0 Release Candidate this was implemented:
"Close current project?" with buttons for "Yes" and "No". This is fine and just what I wanted.
However the same confirmation window should as well appear when clicking on "Project" - "New...".
In the new v12 Ribbon User Interface both, the "New..." and the "Open..." buttons in the "Project" menu just look too much alike to the "New" and "Open" buttons in the "File" menu, which is quite frequently needed.
The instantly recognized visual difference between those icons should therefore be increased a lot as well.
