Hi,
the user interface is inconsistent in having several places for very similar options, some permanent, some not
- Show special characters (off by default)
- Code folding (on by default)
currently need to be switched on/off in every single window if one doesn't like the defaults.
"Show special characters" does not have a Preferences entry and is off by default (I desperately need default ON), please make it an option.
Also, there is no way to turn on code folding for a specific window if deactivated in Preferences. Same here, code folding should have a default (on/off) in Preferences, which then could be overridden for single windows through the edit menu.
"Display line numbers", colors etc. DO have a preferences entry (which is good) but don't have edit menu entries. I don't argue for new edit menu entries, just to make clear that the user interface in its current form is inconsistent. Every option available in the edit menu should have a default entry in Preferences.
