PL/SQL Developer and Oracle 10g xe

I can't login in PL/SQL Developer to Oracle 10g xe database installed locally on my computer. SQL plus login succeeded.

Hi!

I have same problem; install last 10g XE and pl/sql developer trial.
In sqlplus, I normal login, but when i try to login in plsql developer, throw an error ORA-12154 (tnsnames configure ok, also tnsping is ok).

Any ideas?

edit: my mistake; I install plsql in folder with ( and ) - so it didin't work. Now it is working

The error message shows nothing, it's an empty dialog box.

Perhaps you are using Windows 7? In that case you need to install an Oracle11g client.

If you are getting an ORA 12154 error and you think that everything has been configured properly then it may be that PL/SQL Developer has been installed in C:/Program Files (x86). You should reinstall it in the Program Files folder where there isnt (x86).

I encountered this problem on Windows 7 and I reinstalled in C:/Program Files and it worked.
