PL/SQL 6.0.3 sociability

We have recently been upgraded to V6.0.3 and since then if PL/SQL is loaded then double-clicking on Word or Excel files in Windows Explorer (or those attachments in Outlook) means a wait of about 2 minutes before the application and file open. If PL/SQL is not running (or I exit while waiting) the application fires up immediately. Same goes for right-click to 'Find' files in Windows Explorer. No other applications seem to be affected.

Has anybody else come across this behaviour? and been able to fix it?

Thanks in advance,
Smithy.

Ah Ha!
A hint from another posting was the answer.

Make a minor change to preferences and save them. (Set it back if you like.)

Cheers,
Smithy

Actually, No it didn't, not completely anyway. The behaviour had reverted back until I make another change to a text field in preferences. And this was all without restarting or logging out overnight?

What the ????

That's odd. Can you go to Tools > Preferences > Updates & News and disable both interval options? Just set them to "NEVER".

Thanks Marco,
Made the suggested change. So far so good. After doing this I can make the problem reappear by clicking on either "Check Now" button. It goes away by exiting and restarting PL/SQL Developer.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,
Smithy.

Okay. Can you go to Help > Support Info, press the 'Copy all pages' button on this info screen, and paste this text into an e-mail reply?
