New Plugin : Quick/ER - Diagramming tool

At the moment I'm letting Allround do some testing of the dll, to find out where the problem might be.

I'll come back when this issue is solved.

Are you sure ?
Can you supply also these files :rtl60.bpl, vcl60.bpl, vclx60.bpl ?
Or maybe rebuild the QuickERPlugin.dll :)

Simply go to "program files\pl/SQL developer\plugins" and remove the file called quickerplugin.dll.
 
Hy,

very nice tool, but found some problems:
- while saving i get a Error: "Error loading MIDAS.dll"

- can't save a document
- after that my mousepointer stays "Busy"
- in cause of, i'm not able to save i can't print it, too. There is no name in my printer spooler??

I use the trial version.

I have included the midas.dll in the installation, so you can just download the quicker.exe and install it again.

I'll have a look at the Printer function.

Hy again,

i downloaded the new version and deleted before installation the things from PlugIns Directory.

But after install i can still not save the diagramm...
 
I've tried this plug-in also and I like what it's doing. It's a good idea.

I have the same problems as TenGor - I can't save it, and I can't print it.

Here are a couple of other suggestions:
I think it would be nice if we could manually add relationships that don't automatically show up. I've tried some tables with primary/foreign key relationships they don't automatically show up and I'm not sure how to do it.

I think it might also be nice if you had information at the download websight so we can know what's going on with the plug-in without having to come to this forum for updates on it. Latest version, FAQ, what's being worked on etc.

The problems with printing & midas.dll should be solved now.

Please download the installation again and tell me what you find out.

About my "website": As you may have noticed I'm not exactly a wizard on this area :) , so any help would be appriciated.

I'll try and post changes and FAQ's on the site when I find the time.

well the problems are gone.
I can save, print with and without save.

But what are these buttons over the bulb?
There is no PopUp Tooltip and i can't find a help...
 
Hi Tengor,

There is no tooltip because of some plugin limitations. I'm looking into this at the moment.

The buttons over the bulb is filterbuttons which allows you to filter out certain object types. Just above is a dropdown which shows the current schemes from where the objects are from. Here you also have the possibility to filter out a certain schema.

Anyway you can see the quicker.txt in the plugin folder of PL/SQL dev - this is the same file which is displayed on installation.

The Filters are for the Tables, which are already in QuickER, right?
Table, Views, ???,
Procedure, Functions, Trigger,
User, Roles, Sequences

Didn't find out what the third Item in the first row means...

I see that i can drag&drop a Package too,
but there is not "hide" Button ;-)

Yep, the filters are for the objects in QuickER.
The third is Materialized Views.

The filterbutton for packages is kept out to keep the nice layout :0)

Looks like this could be a very useful tool. Good idea. A few things I that I believe would make it more useful. Allow a Configuration option to
turn the graphics on/off, show key fields on/off,
and show text for the fields instead of graphics, i.e., the field type (varchar2(), Date, Number(x,x) instead of a picture.
Also, Could you add flyover hints to the buttons? This would easily tell what each button does.
I tried to drag and drop a table with the CTRL key held down to paste a table and its dependent tables into a diagram. It did not paste the dependent tables into the diagram. Did I misunderstand the note on the CTRL key in the TXT file? I am using the Trial version, so is this a limitation? If so, could you make it so it would at least paste up to the 10 object limit?

Hi BK,

I'm actually working on the config at the moment, but thanks for pointing out.

The button hints are ready (some problems with plugin API) and awaiting v1.1 which should be out in a month or so with plenty of new features.

The thing about CTRL + drag is that you need to start dragging, and just before you drop you hold down CTRL. This feature also works in the trial, but only works up to 10 objects.

PestPatrol identified the quicker.exe as an adware. Is it because its a trial version?

That's funny!

I'll have a look at why pestcontrol thinks that it's an adware. But no, it's the same exe, registered users will just activate it.
