Multiple login on Oracle 10 expresse

I want to deploy my application with Orfacle 10 expresse.
The application works perfectly with Oracle 8i.
Running with Oracle expresse causes frequent login requests

Where do these login requests come from? I assume your application does this, since Direct Oracle Access never implicitly asks to log on.
