macro recording

At my PC, macro recording doesn't work at all. After starting macro recording the mouse and the keyboard freezes. They're locked until I press Ctrl+Alt+Del, call Taskmanager, close the Taskmanager and set the focus back to PLSQL-Developer. Then I do the commands I want to record, but when I stop macro recording there was no macro recorded. I've installed WinXP Prof (with actual patches), Office 2003 and newest plsql developer version. The workaround with reinstalling plsql developer has no effect.

We have had some more reports about this in 7.0, but have not yet been able to reproduce this.

I assume you are using version 7.0?

I've just discovered I have this same problem. As soon as I switch on macro recording PL/SQL Dev just hangs and nothing happens. I have to Ctrl, Alt, Del to get out of it. I have version 7.0.2.1076 on Windows 2000 Service Pack4.

To obtain some more diagnostic information, can you modify the shortcut and add the debug parameter? For example:

"C:\Program Files\PLSQL Developer\plsqldev.exe" debug

Reproduce the problem and send me the debug.txt file that is generated in the PL/SQL Developer directory.

I had it working in version 6.0.5.926.
Then I have instaled the 7 trial version.
After that, Macro stop working.
I have uninstaled the version 7 and got back to the 6.0.5.926.
Then, the macros never worked again. I guess that something was left in registry or in the files that didn't dispared when I executed the uninstall.

Is there a solution? Thanks.

How exactly does it fail? Do you have the macro buttons on the toolbar? Does the macro indicator start to flash during recording? Does it stop afterwards? Does the macro replay?

I am facing the same problem. My keyboard freezes when I start macro recording and I have to go to Task Manager using ctrl+alt+delete and kill PL/SQL Developer. Also, I do not see any menu items under Macro menu.

Here's my setup:
PL/SQL Developer
Version 7.0.3.1123 (MBCS)
Windows XP version 6.0 (build 2600) SP 2

Here is how it does not work for me:

I opened PLSQL Developer, opened a new SQL Window, pressed F11 - pressed a couple of keys (did not work) - pressed ctrl+alt+delete - closed the task manager - pressed some more keys - pressed F11 again - pressed F12 - Nothing happened ! - repeated the same steps again - then closed the window and closed the program !

I've had the same issue, but haven't been able to track down a pattern where I could report useful info for you to replicate. It hasn't happened in about 4 week now, though. Keeping my fingers crossed that luck stays with me...
