Macro on Query Data + Query By Example

I just began with Macros but the first attempt doesn't seem to be successful.
I have 5.1.6 Developer version.

What I'd like to have as a Macro are following steps (first I click on an object, say, a predefined view) :
1. Query Data (Shortcut Alt-Q)
2. Query By Example (Shortcut Shift-Q)

I can record in Macro the first Alt-Q key step only.
The next -- Shift-Q is not recorded at all.

Could I define a macro on all these steps?
If so - could anybody help me with this Macro.

This does indeed not work. The macro is limited to editing tasks, and not very well suited for other automation tasks.
