PL/SQL Developer version 12.0.3.1821, 64 bit, Windows 10, 32GB of RAM.
If I try to open a large HTML CLOB in the large data editor, it hangs and never displays the HTML (the option to choose an external editor or the large data editor never pops up, it just hangs). This occurs for any HTML CLOBs over about 3MB in size.
3MB isn't very big - any editor, especially a 'LARGE' Data Editor should handle files to 100MB or more easily.
This makes it impossible to view HTML CLOB's/docs in the database using PL/SQL Developer, whether with an external viewer or the internal HTML viewer. Files 1MB and smaller open up just fine in both.
