Is there a way to import preferences from v8 into v9?

I just installed v9 and the preferences are back at the default.
I have tweaked many prefs in v8 and I'd like to know if there is
an easy way to import all the modified preferences to the new version.

The preferences should be inherited automatically. Did you install 9.0 over 8.0, or did you install in a separate directory? Can you also let me know your Windows version?
