How to save/restore customizations from V7->V8 ?

I had been running V7 and just downloaded / installed V8.
I like many of enhancements. But...
Many of my customizations (filters, session queries, etc) seem to have been lost. I have a backup and can restore individual files. Is there any easy way to restore my customizations?

If you installed 8.0 in a new directory, you can copy the \Preferences\ directory to your 8.0 directory.

If you installed 8.0 over 7.x, the preferences should be preserved.
