Help with customizing toolbar

I'm on v11. Switched from 2 monitors to 1 and it reverted to default screen layout

From other forum posts I've since unticked Preferences > User Interface / Options and check if the "Save layout per multi monitor setup"

But now i'm unable to customize the commands. When i click customize, it shows the menu shortcuts that will appear on my toolbar, but i can't edit them in any way (drag drop, delete, arrow keys etc). I used to be able to get rid of all the crap, and also put dividing lines between the commands etc

Whats going on?

When you click on the "Customize" option of the toolbar popup menu the customization dialog appears.

On the "Commands" tab page you can drag & drop commands to and from the toolbars.

Can you let me know if this is what you are doing too, and where exactly it fails for you?
