Have to activate every window when swithing

Dear all,
I am struggling with strange behavior: everytime I want to switch to another opened window in Window List I have to click right and select Activate. If I click left nothing happened. Any suggestions please?

That is odd, because the 2 functions are essentially the same. Does the Window List item become active (pressed) when you left-click on it?
