Find & Replace problem

I'm sorry if this problem is stated before, but i find the behaviour of the "Replace" button a little weird.

Instead of just replacing the first occurence of a "Text to Find" in a selected text, it replaces the whole selected text with the "Replace with".

Is this intended?

...and it would be nice, (as mentioned by me before) if after replacing, the next occurence of the search string would be automatically selected, as this is a standard behaviour in all other editors I know.

I have played with the Editor a bit more, and i understand now that i have to use the Search Next & Replace to manually replace occurences one by one...

I'm not sure what exactly should be the norm, but could you look at it again. Maybe you should give users the ability to choose the editor of their choose. I work with Delphi and it is confusing when i switch programs.

If you want to replace all occurrences, or all occurrences within a selection, you can do so in the Find dialog. If you want to verify each occurrence, use the "Repeat Last Find (Ctrl-L)" and "Replace" combo.

Is it just me or does the V7 Find & Replace dialog no longer let you tab from the "Text to Find" field to the "Replace with" field?

I just figured out that this is because I had the Key Configuration:

Edit / Selection / Indent

defined as Tab

Sorry, I could have sworn that's how I had it defined in V6, but I checked and I didn't.

As Rosanne Rosannadanna would have said, "Nevermind!"

[another sheepish grin]
