Find on SQL grid bug

If I have a result set in the SQL window, and search in the SQL grid, most of the time the Find & Replace dialog won't close.

I think that this only happens when there are more rows and columns than will fit in the window and the text searched for is not in the window (it has to reposition the grid).

I have version 7.0.2.1076

Thanks,

Mike

It won't close automatically, or can't you close it?

Note that the "Search" button will close the Find Window, whereas the "Search Next" button will keep it open, so that you explicitly need to close it.

The Find Window stays open if I press the "Search" button. I can't close it by pressing the close button or the x on the top corner.

To close it when it's stuck, I have to select Edit/Find from the menu again. Then it will close if I don't do a search.

Thanks for looking into this. The funny thing is that this has happened every time I've done a search for a while now, but now I can't reproduce it either.

I have upgraded to 7.0.3 recently though, so maybe it's fixed. If I notice it again and can reproduce it, I'll let you know.

I did notice another minor issue while trying to reproduce it. If I select a column on the grid before doing a search, it doesn't reposition the grid if it needs to so it's not obvious that it found what it was searching for.

Thanks,

Mike

You're right, when a selection is made it does not scroll into view. Without a selection it does.

We'll fix it.

I might be the only one that desires to make a selection before a find in the grid, so it might not be high on the priority list.

I'm kind of hoping that it would work that way someday though. It would work a bit faster if it didn't have to search through everything.

So, anyway, I thought I would bring it up again in case it got lost or something.

Thanks,

Mike
