Filtering on Objects

Is there a way to have the folders in the object list open to display the filtered items instead of having to do it myself?

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Can you provide an example?

When I search in the object pane all of the folders stay closed.

I'd like it to automatically open all the folders it's searching in that have found matches.

I just noticed this works if I've already opened all the folders, however when I open the application all the folders are closed by default.

It does indeed only work on folders that are already open and folders that you subsequently open.
