Filtering Comparisons

I am currently demoing PL/SQL Developer and comparing functionality to TOAD.

I am testing the functionality of the compare feature. We are an Oracle Apps customer and when we invoke the compare it loads the many thousands of objects for comparison. I have defined a browser filter for our custom code, but I can not find a way to tell the comparison tool to only load those objects. I know I can highlight after they are loaded the objects I want to compare, but I have to wait a few minutes for the all to load. Are there other ways to deal with this? Toad allows you to specify filters before any objects are loaded.

Thanks!

This is currently not possible, all objects are displayed. Since they are restricted to a user, there should not be a long delay though. Are you using version 6.0.5?

I second Kevan's opinion. It would be nice if the browser filter (or some other way) limited the objects opened. With the apps username, there are lots of objects and there is a several minute delay with me too. I don't do a lot of comparing, so it's not a huge issue for me, but it's something that could be better. I have version 6.0.5.

Thanks for considering,

Mike

I also wish a filter options: pre-select objects, narrow selected objects, one to navigate quickly to certain objects shown (Pressing the first character of the name of an object). We have schemas with over 1500 object and people who need these feature daily.
I put this in a third time to increase the priority of this feature in the "list of enhancement" :-)

Note that you can already save and load object selections. Just make a selection, right-click on it, and select "Save Object Selection". You can load it later by right-clicking on the object list and selecting "Load Object Selection".

Unfortunately, Marco's suggestion can only be used after the full list of objects has been loaded; i.e., after waiting a couple of minutes.
