Hello,
I've searched the PL/SQL Developer help and Google for a way to enable some kind of alert that would notify me when a query finishes, but to no avail. Once I found these forums, I searched and found several posts regarding this topic, each of which had a reply from Marco Kalter saying that it had been added to the list of feature requests, but the threads were all from 2006 or before!
My question is this: Was this idea abandoned for some reason? Is there a technical hurdle that prevents it from being implemented, or is the feature request list so long that it just hasn't made it into a production version yet? Is it reasonable to expect this to ever be an option?
Or, alternatively, has this feature already been implemented and I just haven't found it in the preferences screen?
Please don't get me wrong; I don't want to sound ungrateful or like I'm complaining. I just realize more each day how much time this feature would save me. I also admit that I have no idea what is involved with developing a feature like this, or what resources are available to the PL/SQL team. I was just a bit surprised to see multiple people requesting this feature in the 2004 - 2006 time frame, and then to see it suddenly disappear from the forum without (as far as I can tell) ever being implemented.
