F8 causes all open tabs to be raised in turn

Recently upgraded from version 9 to 12. In V9, pressing F8 with auto select statement would simply execute the current statement in the currently open tab. Now, F8 appears to go through and raise each tab for some reason (it doesn't seem to run anything in the other tabs). Anyone know why that is, and better yet, how to stop it? It's highly annoying. I just want F8 to run the statement I've selected. Don't do anything else, please!

Update: I just noticed that it will do this same thing every so often even if I don't hit F8. It seems this might be the Recovery process? I had save on execute set as well as save on time interval. I've turned off save on execute, and that seems to have stopped the annoyance. However, I had this same setting in V9, and it did not cause this behavior. Why can't it just silently do its job?

Perhaps you clicked on the "Auto refresh" button? It is located on the left of the status line of the window.
