Enhancement Requests

I have been using the trial version of PL/SQL developer for a couple of weeks and have found it to be a very useful and well designed IDE. (We will be ordering 5 licenses in the next few days.)

Add my name to the list of persons that would like to have a split screen option for the editor windows. The option to view two areas of code simultaneously is highly useful and will increase the productivity level of many programmers. I've noticed that this has been an open request for at least two years; I would like to urge the development team to have this request expedited for the next product release.

Second on my list: Allow all windows to be independent of the main program window. Those of us with dual monitors would like to have the option to move windows to the second display. Currently the only way to do this is to stretch the main program window to the outer edges of each monitor.

BTW: Does anyone know when the next version is scheduled to be released?

PL/SQL Developer is a great program that fulfills basically all of my needs but these enhancements would be an exciting change that would most likely be welcomed by all users. Thanks for a great product.

I have added both requests to the list. You are indeed not the first to ask for a split screen editor.

Your suggestion for windows to be independent of the main window, so you can use a dual-monitor setup, sounds very interesting. Unlike the workaround you use, I think I'd be more inclined to create a second Developer instance and put that on my second monitor.
