PL/SQL Developer Version 12.0.3.1821 (32 bit)
I have run a "compare user objects" and saved the result as file. In the packages were text with german umlaute. The file was saved as UTF-8 and the special characters replaced with question marks.
I am not an expert with encodings but should not ANSI rather then UTF-8 be detected when there are umlaute present?
P.S.: When I save a package with umlaute manually autodetect seems to work an the file is saved as ANSI.
