Hi,
Since moving to version 11 (currently on 11.0.2.1768) I have noticed that the Ctrl-Tab ordering seems to have become nonsense for my normal usage pattern.
I think this is caused by the change in version 11 to make Ctrl-Tab always follow the same order as the Window List.
The problem is, if you are in a window that was not the most recently opened one, a new window is always added to the bottom of the window list. This may make sense when purely looking at the window list, but it does not make sense if you normally work with the window list hidden.
Say you have 6 windows open and you are working in a serverside which was the 3rd window opened. You quickly open an SQL window to check something. I would expect Ctrl-Shift_Tab to get me back to the window I was in (and then alternate Ctrl-Tab/Ctrl-Shift-Tab to switch between the 2) as that is normal standard windows application behaviour, but it doesn't work like that any more. It takes me to a seemingly random window (the last but one opened).
In fact if you close the SQL window rather than using Ctrl-Tab functionality, then it does go back to the window you were in - in that case closing a window and Ctrl-Shift-Tab no longer take you to the same window.
If you have the window list open and concentrate on that then the logic of it is obvious and you can move the order of the windows in there to get what I expect. But that is a lot of effort/mouse-clicks each time to get 'normal' behaviour.
One obvious solution would be to have new windows open after the current window in the list rather than at the end. It may want to be an option though as I imagine other people may prefer the current behaviour.
Or am I missing an option somewhere that would give me the old behaviour?
Thanks for listening.
