Check Online Updates - failed

I am new to using the PL/SQL Devloper. We are currently on release 7.0.3.1123 of PL/SQL Developer and I am trying to use the "Check Online Updates" feature to update the software. I have used it from "check now" in preference as well at the Help menu. In both cases it says "Checking for new updates..failed". We have a firewall, but that typically will present with the login request verification. I have actually started a session that is logged into this website to see if that might get around the problem, but it does not help.

Is there some place where I should configure for our firewall? Do you think it is a firewall problem? Would it be best to download a new version of the software directly and uninstall this version?

Any assistance you can provide will greatly appreciated.

If your firewall prompts you when an application is trying to access the internet, then this should of course also work for PL/SQL Developer. Maybe you have a proxy server, and need to configure this in PL/SQL Developer's preferences?

Marco,
Thanks for the response. I searched both help and the archives for proxy on how to set it in PSD. It appears as though after 2004 a version was released where updates & news/proxy settings was added. I don't seem to have this on the version that I currently have installed (it just says Updates & News).

Has it move to elsewhere or is my version old enough that it just doesn't have it installed?

Should I assume we will need to download a full new copy using our license information and then re-install?
TIA,
Janic
