The background color where the tables are shown is an incorrect choice (dark gray) and I can't find where to change it (like, to white, which is what V6 used).

I almost didn't see the relationship lines between the various tables in my query when I opened it.

Both 6.0 and 7.0 use the same background color. It is actually the "Application Background" color as defined in Windows (Display Properties > Appearance > Advanced > Application Background), so you can change it if you want.

Please make this settable on the Preferences dialog.
