running 9.0.4.1644 on Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit. Oracle has a bug that when a connect by clause hits a 'cycle' it throws an error that is interpreted as 'ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel' even though the connection is still valid.
Toad was able to handle this, but on PL.SQL Dev, clicking the 'OK' button caused the process to grab an entire CPU and (obviously) hang. Process had to be killed.
