Thanks Marco, Made the suggested change. So far so good. After doing this I can make the problem reappear by clicking on either "Check Now" button. It goes away by exiting and restarting PL/SQL Developer. Thanks for your help. Cheers, Smithy.

Actually, No it didn't, not completely anyway. The behaviour had reverted back until I make another change to a text field in preferences. And this was all without restarting or logging out overnight? What the ????

Ah Ha! A hint from another posting was the answer. Make a minor change to preferences and save them. (Set it back if you like.) Cheers, Smithy

We have recently been upgraded to V6.0.3 and since then if PL/SQL is loaded then double-clicking on Word or Excel files in Windows Explorer (or those attachments in Outlook) means a wait of about 2 minutes before the application and file open. If PL/SQL is not running (or I exit while waiting)...
