    AlexNG, You are probably right about the O/S thing. All of us are on XP SP2. We only adopted PL/SQL Developer recently, so I haven't tried it with other operating systems.

    It started working once I had clicked "reset to default" on the key configuration options. This is a little odd, becuause the 3 developers I work with all had the same issue, and none of us had touched the configuration. Either way, it is working now, and thanks for your help.

    Marco, I am using the latest 1.2 version, and I have tried all the "Search cross-references" options. Even when set to "none", it doesn't seem to improve the speed at all. Based on Jason's description, it sounds like we are experiencing the same issue. Jeremy
