    No the file is not checked in (tested with more than 2 Hours wait time, file was not chekced in).

    NOTE: I tested Problem and set each time the work-directory to an other Directory on an other Drive and using an other SourceSafe-Database.

    about 20 seconds after Check in a Dialog "actual file is changed, file reload? (yes,no)" is displayed. the result is the same (no program reaction) when the Dialog is answred with no or with yes or canceld using the esc-key.
