Thanks Slava for the suggestions. I *can* connect with sqlplus and do indeed have multiple Oracle versions installed but have set the Oracle Home directory to both of them using the preferences/connection setting and still no luck. All my other Oracle tools work. Any other ideas? Thanks, Deb

Just downloaded pl/sql developer but cannot connect to my instance. The username/password and database are correct. Can you give some troubleshooting steps?
