Just so you know it is not an isolated incident. I, along with others at my company using 6.0.5. am experiencing the same problem copying to excel.

This problem is caused by the hyperthreading processor. I had the exact same problem on my machine and fixed it by forcing Plsql developer to use only one processor. The link below will explain how to do it. We believe the problem is in the bios because some of our very similar machines work...
