I need to create a generic search utility where the user can search vertially every field in the table, and should be able to combine the different operands AND, OR, NOT in the search in order to get the required result.

Can this be done using QBE? If not at present, are you planning to include this in a (near) future release?

With regards
Helene

The QBE feature does not support OR or NOT operations. We don't have concrete plans to incorporate this into the QBE functionality, but we are considering a generic search form that would allow this. Just like QBE this form would affect the where clause of a TOracleDataSet, but it would present itself in a new window.

Could you give any indication on the time frame for when this functionality will be available?

We need to give a time estimate to a client on when we can supply this kind of functionality, and would of course prefer to use functionality within the DOA components directly instead of developing our own way to do this.

Helene

No, sorry, we haven't got any concrete dates yet.
