I would like to distribute the minimum Oracle client DLLs. In the previous version, I was distributing the ORA72.DLL and a couple of other files for a total of about 0.5 MB. With 9.2 client (oraclient9.dll), I cannot get it down under 30 files totalling more than 12 MB. Since I am just connecting and doing simple queries, is there a set of DLLs that I could use that would get me closer to the version 7.2 case? (I am not interested in running off of a file server).

The Oracle10g Instant Client consists of 8 files. It is still 30MB though, but I guess that is the minimum. It's very easy to install.

Note: it requires Direct Oracle Access 4.0.6.
