We are using Version 8.0.4.1514 of PL SQL Devleoper
(Windows 7 (64 Bit) 6.1 Build 7601 (SP1)) on a Citrix server
Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise

There are a number of instances when I get the error 'The configuration registry key could not be read' for example opening the Large Data Editor.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the install.

Thank you for your help.

Mark

This is indeed a known issue in 8.0. You would need to upgrade to 9.0 to fix this. You can download and try the 9.0 trial version to verify this.

Thank you for the quick reply. We will try to get permission from security to install verision 9.0 and then check if fixes the issue.

We are using PL SQL Devleoper version 7.1.4 and published on a Citrix server Windows 2008 R2

Enterprise.

When I am trying to access the CLOB values, we are getting following two errors in sequence for only

few users.

1. The configuration registry key could not be read

2. Access violation at address 0042894E in module 'plsqldev.exe'. Read of address 00000000

However, we are not getting the similar error for other users who is login in the same server. I am wondering, how it is working for few users and not working for others.

Can you provide solution please

You will need to upgrade to the latest PL/SQL Developer version to fix this.
