1. Preferences and toolbar

Copy the following directory:

C:\Program Files\PLSQL Developer\Preferences -->
%APPDATA%\PLSQL Developer\Preferences

(e.g. C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\PLSQL Developer\Preferences)

Export and import the following registry section:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Allround Automations\PL/SQL Developer

2. Macros

These cannot be preserved from 6.0 on XP to 8.0 on Windows 7.

Are macros compatiable between v8 and v9?

How about v8 macros between XP and Win7?

Thank you.

Also, I notice that in v8 the registry has Docking3, but in v9 it has Docking4.

My question is then, can we just export the v8 settings, edit the file to point to Docking4 and then import the file?

Macros are compatible between 8.0 and 9.0, but not between XP and Windows 7.

You don't need to edit the docking names. Version 9 will automatically pick up the version 8 docking layout.

Is there some way to convert XP written macros to work on Win7?

I'd be willing to write a conversion routine!

No, there is no method for this.

I would be happy, if PSD obtains the feature a-la "Backup Configuration To File".
Backup should include everything, including plugins folders, stored queries (files with .sq extension), etc.
Saved file should then be valid in newer versions of application. Some sections, that are incompatible with the application, could be skipped during restore process, with warnings.

In short words, it would be wonderful, if we get backup/restore functionality, conceptually similar to the one, provided by MozBackup utility for Firefox browser.

Best regards,
Maxim

I have added this to the list of enhancement requests.
